At the age of 90, James Brown Sweeney, the visionary entrepreneur, had succeeded in creating a successful pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Ecuador called James Brown Pharma, which had already been in operation for 50 years. With his unwavering energy and passion for nature, James embarked on a mission to establish a refuge for wildlife. He mobilized his team at James Brown Pharma, particularly his son Felipe Brown Hidalgo, the General Manager of James Brown Pharma, to make this dream a reality. He also collaborated with conservation experts to develop a solid plan that would allow for the rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of endangered animals. This is where Placido Salvador Palacios, an expert in wildlife conservation, comes into play, and he is now the Administrator of the Center.
