OUR STORY
James Brown
At the age of 90, James Brown Sweeney, the visionary entrepreneur, had succeeded in creating a successful pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Ecuador called James Brown Pharma, which had already been in operation for 50 years. However, James was not satisfied with his accomplishments, and his desire to leave an even more significant impact on the world led him to conceive an even more ambitious idea: the creation of the James Brown Wildlife Rescue Center.
With his unwavering energy and passion for nature, James embarked on a mission to establish a refuge for wildlife. He mobilized his team at James Brown Pharma, particularly his son Felipe Brown Hidalgo, the General Manager of James Brown Pharma, to make this dream a reality. He also collaborated with conservation experts to develop a solid plan that would allow for the rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of endangered animals. This is where Placido Salvador Palacios, an expert in wildlife conservation, comes into play, and he is now the Administrator of the Center.
Working closely with local organizations and wildlife experts, James Brown Sweeney decided to use his own property, a suitable piece of land, for the James Brown Wildlife Rescue Center. With the help of his company, he obtained the necessary funds to build a center that gradually took shape and provided quality medical care and a safe environment for the rescued animals.
The James Brown Wildlife Rescue Center became a space for endangered animals, providing specialized care for each of them. Despite his advanced age, James personally involved himself in the operation of the center, dedicating his time and resources to ensuring the well-being of all rescued species.
In addition to its rescue work, the center became a focal point for environmental education in the local community and beyond. Guided tours, educational programs, and events were organized to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and respect for wildlife.
To this day, James Brown Sweeney is still alive, dedicating his time and energy to the James Brown Wildlife Rescue Center. His legacy as an entrepreneur and nature lover continues to inspire others to follow his example and work for the protection of our valuable natural environment.
The story of James Brown Sweeney is a living testament to the power of an individual to make a difference and leave a positive impact on the world, even in advanced age. His vision and determination remind us that it is never too late to pursue our dreams and contribute to the well-being of wildlife and our planet.

¿What we do?
We rehabilitate intervened animals and reintegrate them into their wildlife.
What we do is receive animals from different organizations, the National Police, the Ministry of Environment, environmentalists, NGOs, or any agent that has a wild species.
We analyze the condition of these animals, rehabilitate them if necessary with our veterinarians and medicine. We evaluate them, and once they are ready to be reintroduced into their natural habitat, we choose the optimal place for their release.
